Dr. Nwaka is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), in Child & Adolescent and Adult psychiatry.
Dr. Nwaka graduated from the renowned University of Benin Medical School in Nigeria and then relocated to the United States to further her training. She completed her General Psychiatry Residency training program at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. She also completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship training program at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP).
Dr. Nwaka is committed to providing care and restoring hope to individuals facing mental health challenges.
She has extensive experience in treating various psychiatric conditions, utilizing the latest evidence and consensus-based approaches in providing medication management as well as psychotherapy services.
Dr. Nwaka participates in local and international education programs promoting mental health awareness and reducing stigma.
Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Nwaka is very family-oriented. She is an avid swimmer and enjoys nature walks, listening to music, and traveling.
Sarah graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and is currently on a Pre-Med track, with plans to pursue a career in Psychiatry.
Passionate about mental health, Sarah is committed to contributing to a positive patient experience. She enjoys working in healthcare because it allows her to connect with people and support them through their journey to living their lives to their fullest potential.
Outside of work, Sarah loves spending time with her friends, family, and her three pets. She enjoys hiking, and when she’s not exploring the outdoors, you can find her getting lost in a mystery book or TV series.
